Applications
The Semantic Video Annotation Tool (SVAT)
The aim of the project is to analyse a film semi-automatically. The Joanneum Research provides a software which will be improved together with Graz University of Technology in direction of intelligent shot analysis and to extract relevant keyframes. Within these frames specific objects should be defined to analyse their appearence in one or more films. The data obtained will be related with an iconographic database.
The tool provides several automatic feature extraction methods which supports the user with annotation and navigation. Extensions to the SVAT enable film analysts to annotate video footage efficiently. The most innovative automatic module included is an object recognition and search tool which allows the recognition of specific objects in the whole video.
- A fully functional trial-version of the software is available for download from the Joanneum Research servers.
