Jan 2009 - now Working on a project for in cooperation with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute (LBI) for Clinical Forensic Imaging (CFI). The overall goal of this project is to establish medical imaging modalities MR and CT for forensic evaluations and in court. The part of the Institute for Computer Vision and Graphics is to contribute with image segmentation and visualization techniques to tackle questions that arise in the course of this project.
Aug 2007 - Dec 2008 Working on a project for Siemens PSE SLT - Biometrics Competence Center in Graz. The task is to improve an existing software prototype for face and facial feature detection and expression classification in the context of the ICAO specification for neutral-expression passport pictures.
May 2004 - July 2007 Working on a project in cooperation with Siemens PSE Graz and Siemens MED Erlangen. Now focusing on feature- and intensity-based nonlinear registration methods in the intra-modality intra-patient context.
Sep. 2003 - Apr. 2004 Working on different topics from the dissertation proposal. Lung and airway tree segmentation and registration.
Jul. - Aug. 2003 Working on the rewriting of the FWF proposal for the common project of Inst. f. Computer Graphics and Vision, the Department of Radiology, University Hospital Graz and our partners at the University of Iowa. The first version did not make it :-(
Apr. - Jun. 2003 Another visit of the College of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Radiology @ University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA.
Working with Prof. Milan Sonka and Prof. Eric Hoffman on parts of the proposed FWF project and acquiring CT data.
Feb. - Mar. 2003 Working on a demonstration for the European Congress for Radiology in Vienna. The demonstration included a stereo setup showing visualizations of the heart and a virtual fly through of an aorta.
Jun. 2002 - Jan. 2003 Working on the FWF proposal for a common project of Inst. f. Computer Graphics and Vision, the Department of Radiology, University Hospital Graz and our partners at the University of Iowa.
May 2002 Visited the College of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Radiology @ University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA.
Together with Prof. Milan Sonka (Medical Imaging Group) and Prof. Eric Hoffman (Pulmonary Imaging Group) ideas for a common project were formulated and refined.
